Redesigns

This is a collections of works centered around redesigning fiction company web pages. Each design focuses around a different element of design and poses unique challenges to accomplish.

一 ComfyJeans:

ComfyJeans is an online fashion retailer. They're willing to have colors added but their primary brand color is Han Purple (#4800FF). Their objectives are:

  • They want to advertise their new collection called "Colorful Jeans" and would like this to be one of the first things users notice.

  • They want to get users to subscribe to the newsletter as a secondary goal.

  • They want a top banner notification to advertise “free shipping 24 hours only”.

An initial template was provided but they're willing to have colors added, font sizes and shapes changed, and even have design elements moved around.

Takeaways:

  • Colorful Jeans is visually heaviest section after the feature image.

  • The Newsletter is placed off to the side of Featured Products to break up the repetition and have the eyes drift over to it.

  • The banner at the top is visually catching due to its weight via having the greatest use of Han Purple.

二 Changelly:

Changelly is a secure online platform for buying and selling cryptocurrency.The business goal for this page is to get more users on the platform and to create an account.

The landing page was built for conversion purposes and to entice users to make a purchase.

An initial template was provided but they're willing to have colors added, font sizes and shapes changed, and even have design elements moved around.

Takeaways:

  • The eyes go straight from Changelly logo to the title of “Buy Bitcoin with Credit Card” and continues to cascade down in an easy manor.

  • The text underneath that leads you down to the purchasing and conversion mechanism which is the main feature of the sight.

  • The page is more spacious than before by aligning most the text to the center, and removing the currency exchange box it frees up more of the page.

三 Kavany:

Kavany is cloud computing platform that provides a visual interface to track and make suggestions on performance and earnings.

Their goal is to be the leaders in offering a top-of-the-line product in visual quality and experience.

An initial template was provided but they're willing to have colors added, font sizes and shapes changed, and even have design elements moved around.

Takeaways:

  • The numbers are enlarged so the user's eyes travel to the most important information first.

  • The graph is located below that helps visualize earnings over time while also acting as a barrier dividing earning rank and projects from the top earners. 

  • This new format makes the page easier to understand and scan for comments and data that user is searching for.
